U Film Festival

It’s that time of year again – The U Film Festival competition has commenced and we want your films! If you have produced or are interested in making a short film, then click here, register and upload your film onto U Tube to go into the draw to win the national University Film Festival Competition! The UOW screening will be held on 25 Aug and registrations are due 19 Aug. Films are to be handed into the CSE office by the 20 Aug by 4pm. For more info please email Katie.


Daffodil Day Ball

The Cancer Council is holding a Daffodil Day Ball on Sat 22 Aug, commencing at 6:30pm @ TIGS (The Illawarra Grammar School). There will be raffles, live auctions, entertainment and a live performance by Wendy Matthews and all money raised from this event will stay local, to be allocated to set up a new Cancer Information Centre at Wollongong Hospital. Enviro Week : Week 3

The Enviro Collective at UOW is putting on "Enviro Week", and is showcasing a series of film screenings, speeches, seminars and other events. Please see below:
Monday - "We are not No-one, this is not Nowhere" - film screening about indigenous communities affected by the nuclear industry in 25.128 @ 12:30pm.
Tuesday - "Transport and the Environment" - talk by Tom Hunt - 67.102 @ 1:30pm
Wednesday - "Rivers of Shame" - film screening and talk by residents of communities affected by the coal industry - in 20.2 @ 12:30pm. Also, "Green Jobs are the Way Out" - speech by Graham Brown, environmental activist and ex-coal miner - in 20.3 @ 6:30pm.
Thursday - "Clothes Swap" - bring your old clothes and swap them with other peoples' clothes - Duckpond Lawn @ 12:00pm. Also "Speakout" - open mic for speeches about the environment - Duckpond Lawn @ 12:30pm.
Friday - "The Big Melt" - speeches from people affected by global warming and the melting of glaciers in the Himalayas - 6:30pm @ Hope Theatre.

The God Illusion

The Evangelical Christian Union (ECU) would like to invite you to engage with us in looking at Jesus and Christianity.
