'Invisible Children' - FREE Movie Screening
Since 1986 northern Uganda has been caught in what has been described as the most neglected humanitarian emergency in the world today. For the past 23 years, the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and the Government of Uganda have been waging a war that has left nearly two million innocent civilians caught in the middle. In the last year, the conflict has spread to the surrounding region, specifically Sudan, Central African Republic, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, as rebel leader Joseph Kony has been fleeing from the peace talks and abducting more children into his ranks. The movie "Invisible Children: Rough Cut" documents the war in northern Uganda in which children are abducted by a rebel army and forced to fight as child soldiers. There is a FREE screening of ‘Invisible Children’ being held on Tuesday 21st April in the McKinnon Building (Room 107). There will also be a mini expo in the foyer starting at 7pm, with the film beginning at 7.30pm. Entry is FREE, so bring along your friends! For more information contact Elana Foster via email
