COAL2010 will be held over two days in February 2010 at the University of Wollongong. The Conference is organised jointly between the University of Wollongong, and the Illawarra Branch of The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. The Conference will address issues related to various aspects of modern coal mining operations. Accordingly, papers are invited from the following topics:

• Heading development, longwall mining, bord and pillar mining, hydraulic mining
• Ground control, instrumentation, rock bolting, mine subsidence, strata managment
• Mine ventilation, mine gas drainage and outburst control, mine fires and control, mine dust and control, an risk management
• Mine management and mine contract
