Withdrawal

Two weeks notice is required when your child is withdrawn from the centre. Withdrawal forms are available from Reception.

Late Fee

Collecting your child after 6:00pm incurs a late fee of $1.00 per minute per child plus an additional $30 administration fee. After the first 10 minutes the fee will increase to $3.00 per minute.

Payment

Payment may be made by Cheque, EFTPOS, Online, Credit, Salary Deduction or Money Order. Cash payments are NOT accepted.

Special Conditions

Parents taking extended approved leave, such as Sabbatical, Long Service Leave and Paternity Leave over a three month period will be given priority on the waiting list when their child returns to the centre.

Meals

The centres provide balanced, nutritional meals. This includes morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and late afternoon tea. The menus are displayed in each centre. Foods indicative of children's cultural background are served regularly and parents are welcome to participate in the preparation of their national dishes.

Sleeping

We provide opportunity for all children to rest daily. No child is forced to sleep, alternative quiet activities are available.

Safety

Always leave your child in the care of a staff member prior to leaving the centre.
Children must be signed in and out of the centre. In cases of emergency, the sign in sheets are used to confirm attendance.
This is the parents responsibility with the exception of sign-on at After School Care. Please notify the centre immediately of change of address and/or telephone contact numbers.
On enrollment the parent/guardian is requested to nominate in writing the people authorised to collect their child. The child will NOT be permitted to leave the centre without authorisation.

Mandatory Reporting

UniCentre Children’s Services recognises that the primary role of staff is to advocate for children to ensure their physical and emotional well-being. Under the Childcare and Protection Act (1987), it is mandatory for all staff to notify NSW Department of Community Serivces of suspected child abuse and neglect.

Privacy

Health
In order to protect your child and other children, the following information will help you decide when your child is too sick to attend the centre.
Keep Your Child At Home If he/she has:

A high temperature or fever in the morning.

Vomiting – within 12 hours prior to the child attending.

Rashes – any skin irritation you cannot identify and has not been diagnosed by the Doctor.

Severe cold – sneezing or runny nose.

Diarrhoea – watery/greenish bowel movements within the last 12 hours.

Not been well – the child feels unwell without any obvious symptoms such as unusually tired, pale, irritable or lethargic.

Had a Doctor diagnose an infection e.g. ear, eye, throat, and has prescribed the child antibiotics. The child should not be brought to the centre until he/she has been on the medication for at least 12 hours.

Any contagious disease or condition that is still infectious.

Please Note:
If your child has been absent from the centre due to an infectious disease or condition, a doctors clearance must be received by the centre prior to the return of the child.
