The ALIVE Leadership Program gives you the opportunity to develop valuable leadership skills which enhances your employment prospects and assists in your personal growth as a young leader! ALIVE consists of interactive workshops offering you training in leadership skill development and a chance to apply and use these skills in a variety of practical programs.

 MODULEOVERVIEW
WHAT IS LEADERSHIPINDUCTION & TEAM BUILDING WORKSHOP
Saturday 6 April (Wk 5)
10:00am - 4:00pm
Come along and meet your fellow participants. You will learn more about the program and what to expect. You will develop problem solving and team building skills through the fun activities.
MYERS BRIGGS TESTING
Tuesday 9 April (Wk 6)
3:30pm - 5:30pm
This testing will show you what your leadership style is. You will learn more about your strengths, weaknesses and opportunities as a leader based on reputable psychological testing.
THE NATURE OF LEADERSHIP
Thursday 11 April (Wk 6)
3:30pm - 5:30pm
What is leadership? How can you be a leader? Does leadership come from me personally or the position that I am in? These are some of the questions that this session will tease out.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENTNETWORKING SKILLS
Tuesday 16 April (Wk 7)
3:30pm - 5:30pm
Learn the do’s and don’ts of networking. Learn how to establish and maintain connections that will be useful for your career.
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
Thursday 18 April (Wk 7)

EI is vital to your leadership journey. It will assist you in developing skills which allow you to read the emotions of others and deal with conflict and change in your leadership journey.
PUBLIC SPEAKING TECHNIQUES Tuesday 30 April (Wk 8)
12:30pm - 2:30pm
Most leaders have to speak in front of crowds at some time. Learn techniques for how to deal with nerves, how to command attention from the audience and how to drive your key points home.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Saturday 4 May (Wk 8)
10:00am - 12:00pm
What obligations do you have to society? As a leader, you should always be mindful of your impact upon the environment, society, minorities and many other factors.
MOBILISING OTHERSCOMMUNICATION SKILLS
Tuesday 7 May (Wk 9)
3:30pm - 5:30pm
Learn about your communication style and how you can best communicate with people of other communication styles. The focus will be on small scale interpersonal communication.
EVENT MANAGEMENT
Thursday 9 May (Wk 9)
12:30pm - 2:30pm
Mobilising others often takes place through events. This will be a crash course on running a successful event mapping what should be done before, during and after your big day.
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS Tuesday 14 May (Wk 10)
3:30pm - 5:30pm
This session will cover how promote your events or projects more widely. It will teach you basic techniques for marketing and promotions that are sure to help you get your message out there.
ADVOCACY SKILLS
Thursday 16 May (Wk 10)
12:30pm - 2:30pm
How do you advocate for a position cause? Where do you start, who do you target, how do you lobby? These are the sort of skills that will be covered in this session.
WRAPPING IT ALL UP!REVIEWING & GOAL SETTING
Saturday 3 August (Wk 1)
10:00am - 12:00pm
Taking stock of an activity, event or project can be really difficult. This session will focus on how to review your actions and set goals based on previous outcomes.
SOCIAL TRANSFORMATIONS
Tuesday 13 August (Wk 3)
12:30pm - 2:30pm
This session is about understanding the power that you have as a leader. Leadership doesn’t always have to come from the top down, but from the bottom up.
INTERVIEW TECHNIQUES
Tuesday 27 August (Wk 5)
3:30pm - 5:30pm
Over the course of the program you learn lots of skills and have heaps of new experiences. Learn how to market these skills most effectively in this session.
WHERE TO NOW?
Thursday 12 September (Wk 7)
3:30 - 5:30pm
You have all these great skills and have tried your hand at volunteering. This session will give you tips about how to continue your leadership journey. There will be more information on other programs and opportunities available for your advancement.


GRADUATE IN ONE OF THREE CATEGORIES:

BRONZE: attendance at 10 sessions and 10 hours of volunteering
SILVER: attendance at 12 sessions and 20 hours of volunteering
GOLD: attendance at 14 sessions and 30+ hours of volunteering

PROGRAM COSTS:

CSE VOLUNTEERING - $150 (any other CSE Program)

EXTERNAL VOLUNTEERING - $200
