The ALIVE Leadership Program is giving you the opportunity to develop valuable leadership skills enhancing your employment prospects and assisting in your personal growth as a young leader!

ALIVE consists of interactive workshops offering you training in leadership skill development and a chance to apply and utilise them in a variety of practical programs.

PROGRAM BENEFITS include:

  • Learning and experience with leadership skills
  • Automatic membership to the Australian Student Leadership Association (ASLA)
  • Opportunity to make a difference in the university and/or local community
  • Development of essential emplyability skills and competencies
  • Connecting with a like-minded yet diverse group of people and working with UOW staff and/or the local community
  • Certification on successful completion

In order to complete the ALIVE program, participants are required to:

  • Achieve 80% attendance in workshops conducted
  • Satisfactory contribute to 1 of 4 practical programs offered by CSE OR complete 10 hours volunteering through an external organisation

Practical programs offered by CSE are designed to assist students to develop and utilise leadership skills, form valuable networks and are great FUN! These include:-

The Students 4 Students National Leadership Conference Team (S4S NLC) Team
The S4S Conference Team will coordinate the 2012 S4S National Leadership Conference taking place on 22-23 Sept at UOW. Various roles offered include Chairperson, Speakers and Program Director, Gala Dinner Director, PR and Marketing Director, etc. Click here for more info on past conferences.

Elevate Young Leaders Forum Facilitator
CSE and UniAdvice will offer 20 students a chance to plan and facilitate the 3rd Elevate Young Leaders Forum in 2012 where 200 Yr 11 SRCs attend 3 leadership days involving interactive activities, reflection groups and keynote speakers.

Impact@UOW
Engage with the local Illawarra community and UOW staff! CSE together with Professional and Organisational Development Services is offering students the chance to work in a team community project led by 2 UOW staff members. In 2011, Impact@UOW collaborated with Cancer Council, House With No Steps, Barnardos and SCARF.

UOW Buddies Program
In partnership with UOW College, buddy up with college students to connect thme to Student Life at UOW enhancing their student experience.
