UOW Good Deeds International

GDI@UOW is the UOW student branch of the international charity organisation Good Deeds International (GDI). GDI@UOW is part of the GDI platform, for people just like you to actively engage in humanitarianism, philanthropy, child labour advocacy, inspiration, sustainable development and direct action where it is needed most. GDI@UOW’s mission is to break the cycle of trans-generational child labour practices in developing countries by

• Creating secondary and post-secondary educational opportunities for child labourers

• Offering sustainable development support to communities and families vulnerable to child labour

• Educating communities about child labour

• Inspiring young people in developed countries to contribute to the eradication of child labour worldwide

At the moment, our focus point is to build a 4WD truck, dubbed Big Deeds that will function as a symbol for all we stand, and be used for educational purposes in and around the Illawarra.
