Clubs and Societies
Interested in sharing similar interests, creating social and professional networks or making new friends, then you’ve come to the right place. UniCentre’s Clubs and Societies is one of the primary social programs students participate in whilst studying at the University of Wollongong. There are over 50 Clubs affiliated with the UniCentre and these cover a myriad of interests.
Get involved in the University of Wollongong’s diverse culture through joining clubs and societies. Through joining a club or society you will have the opportunity to participate in the UniCentre Cup and the Clubs and Societies Awards Night, two highlights of the social calendar.
Important Information
Half yearly reports
Please all be aware that all Clubs & Societies haft yearly paperwork MUST be into the C&S office by Friday 18th July. This includes a financial report and an updated memberships list. This information can be dropped into the C&S office or e-mailed.
Clubs Day
Clubs day for week 1 semester 2 is not far away. It provides your club with an excellent opportunity to recruit new members. Take advantage of this opportunity by having a stall on the day.

Time: 10am-3pm
Location: Duck Pond Lawn

The Kibbutz Ex Volunteer Association invites you to the 7th Israeli Film festival in Wollongong on Saturday 2nd August 2008 at the McKinnon Building, 6.30pm. Entry is $5.00.
The movies that are being shown are:
Someone To Run With (based on the bestselling book of acclaimed Israeli writer David Grossman) and
Jellyfish (based in a story by Israeli writer Etgar Keret; this movie won the Cannes Film Festival Camera D’Or prize in 2007).

Lipton Ice Tea UniCentre Cup

UniCentre Cup
A big thanks you to all Clubs & Societies members who came along to the 2nd Annual UniCentre Cup, sponsored by Lipton Ice Tea. It was a fantastic day promoting interaction between all Cubs & Societies, International and Domestic students. There was a very positive competitive spirit amongst all the Clubs and Societies who attended, overall a fantastic day.
Prizes & Awards
Most Creative Promotional Efforts to get members Involved – Amnesty International – you can still check out this you tube video at youtube.com by typing in ‘UniCentre Cup’ into the search bar, defiantly worth checking out! Amnesty received $150 cash finding.
The Club/Society Spirit Award – FASSA & Civil Engineering – We saw so much Spirit throughout the whole day with all Clubs & Societies, Civil had an amazing chant and FASSA showed loads of team spirit. FASSA & Civil Engineering both received $300 cash funding, and tickets to the Hawks and Tight & Bright party @ The UniBar on the 22nd May. The runner up for the Clubs Spirit Award was the Chinese Student association. Congratulations and well done to you all.
Best Dressed Club/Society – FASSA – FASSA looked very stylish in their matching blue FASS tops, we especially loved the gorilla! FASSA received 30 tickets to the Tight & Bright party @ the UniBar on the 22nd May.
3rd Place – The Badminton Club & The Persian Club – Both the Badminton Club & The Persian Club received $100 cash funding.
2nd Place – Chemsoc – Chemsoc received $250 cash funding.
1st Place – Amnesty – Amnesty received and the Cup trophy for another year!
A big congratulation goes out to all the teams from all the Clubs & Societies for all their efforts put into the day and the weeks leading up. We are looking forward to a bigger and brighter UniCenter Cup in 2009.
