Affiliation with UniCentre

Affiliation is the term given to the act of a club registering its existence with the UniCentre. By Affiliating C&S are able to use the UOW name, are covered by insurance and have access to a wealth of resources to assist in the successful running of the club. Every C&S must do this annually.

If you have not yet affiliated with UniCentre and wish do, please get the necessary documentation to the C&S office ASAP.

Funding Information

Funding plays a key role in C&S. Every C&S is able to apply for funding from UniCentre to support planned events and activities. Funding applications will be assessed four times a semester by the C&S Support Committee.

Booking C&S Equipment

The CSD has equipment and resources that are available to Clubs & Societies for free or at a reduced cost. All C&S must fill in a booking form and return it to the C&S Office with necessary documentation.

If your club would like to use the BBQ, please read through the following procedure, which outlines your responsibilities for events with the BBQ on campus.

Familiarisation with Food Standards Before booking the BBQ, it is important that your club understands the food safety standards when offering food for your members. Before making a booking for the BBQ, it is essential that you visit www.foodstandards.gov.au

On that website you can access “An introduction to the new food Safety Standards” as well as a fact sheet with tips for running ‘Sausage Sizzles and Barbeques.”

Notifying the NSW Food Authority If you are serving food you must always notify the NSW Food Authority of your event. You can notify the NSW Food Authority at www.foodnotify.nsw.gov.au/nafs_prod

After filling out the notification, you must print a copy of the notification confirmation to submit with your BBQ booking form. Your request to book the BBQ will not be considered unless you can show that you have notified the NSW Food Authority.
