About Iranian Culture Society UOW

The University of Wollongongs' Iranian Culture Society is a non-profit organisation whose primary purpose is to further a greater sense of culture among Iranians living in Australia and around the world. Through a combination of cultural, social and educational events, the society intends to promote a new cultural empowerment. The Iranian Culture Society UOW is not to be considered an Iranian organisation with Iranian members only. It's purpose is not only to serve Iranians but also to introduce this culture to non-Iranian speaking people. The society invited all interested parties to join and help make this organisation grow and prosper faster.

Our Objectives

• To promote Iranian culture activities and to introduce and demonstrate Iranian traditions and customs to students
• To organise Iranian culture celebrations and to familiarize students to Iranian literature and art
• To promote the aims of the University and to foster student fellowship within the University
• To promote sporting, educational and social activities for, and to maintain contact with, all members
• To print, publish and circulate such things as papers, circulars and to provide exhibitions and demonstrations
• To help new Iranian students and help guide them to settle in their new environment
