UOW Medieval Society

Ever wanted to escape to another time? Like being dressed in pretty clothes? Like hitting things with sticks? Then the UOW Medieval Society is for you!

We’re a group that looks at recreating the past as accurately as we can – whether that be through making costumes, fighting, armouring, feasting, dancing, brewing or singing – if they did it in medieval times then you can choose to do it here!

We have something for everyone, and you don’t need to have any skills to come along and have a go. We meet three times a week to look at different areas.

Stitch n Bitch – our weekly arts and sciences, meeting held on Monday nights 7:30-9:30pm on campus in room 19.G026. This is where we do costuming and dancing and typically all the “crafty” stuff, as well as a good deal of socialising. If there is anything, you are interested in then come along and one of us will probably be able to help you.

Fighter Practice – for the combat inclined, held on Tuesday nights at 7:30-9:30pm in the Southwestern car park on campus. Not just for the boys, come don some armour and try your skill at completely un-choreographed medieval sword fighting.
