UOW Materials Engineering Society (MetSoc)

METSOC is the society for anyone studying a Materials related degree (Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, Chemistry, etc.) or those with a general interest in this area.

The aim of our club is to encourage the interaction of students and staff of any background to foster greater understanding of all aspects of the Materials Industry.

Our club objectives are to:
-Hold social events designed to allow students to interact with those outside their usual grouping
-To interact with other clubs and societies to gain a greater understanding of different aspects of engineering
-To arrange and host technical events, such as seminars and site visits, so that students can appreciate the diversity available in the Materials Industry.

Events planned for 2009 include various barbecues and pizza lunch social events, Field Trips to Innovation Campus, Field Trip to various Industrial Sites throughout NSW, Social Trivia Night, Engineering Ball.
