UniCentre UOW Campus Stall Guidelines provide a framework for the distribution of permits to students, staff and external community members (non-commercial) who wish to set up a stall for the purpose of promotion, fundraising, barbecues, student social experience or market stall sales. Commercial operators may direct their enquiries to the UniCentre Marketing Department.

The purpose of these guidelines is to assist and guide staff, students and community members, manage congestion levels on campus and ensure that safety and health requirements are adhered to.
Staff, students and community members who wish to set up a stall on campus can obtain a stall permit through the UniCentre Centre for Student Engagement.

Only authorised stall holders will be permitted on campus. Permit holders are only entitled to set up in the designated spaces as per the UOW Campus Stall Permit Location Map. By applying for a UOW Campus Stall Permit all groups are agreeing to abide by the regulations associated with each category of permit 

Availability:  

Monday to Friday from 10am to 3pm, unless otherwise other wise approved.

Stall Size: 

1.5m x 2m. Stall holders requiring additional space will need to apply for multiple permits on application

Permits must be clearly displayed on the front right hand corner of the stall at all times – including during set up and pack down

Applying for a permit:

  • Each individual or group is entitled to apply for one permit from each permit colour category per week
  • Applicants will be advised of the decision regarding their permit within 2 working days of the application being received by the Centre for Student Engagement
  • Applications for UOW Campus Stall Permits will be accepted from Monday at 9am two weeks prior of the permit issue date
  • All applications need to be received by the Wednesday of the week prior to the requested date
  • Applications must be completed in full and include any necessary supporting documentation. Incomplete applications will not be assessed
  • Permits need to be paid in full and collected from Centre for Student Engagement between 9am – 11am on the morning of the approved date
  • This must be completed prior to the set up of any non permanent structure

Wet Weather:

In the case of wet weather Blue, Yellow, Purple and Green Permits will be cancelled. A Text Message notification will be sent to the person who applied for the permit before 9am on the day the permit was approved. 

Red Permit holders will be allocated to wet weather areas as per the Wet Weather Permit Map.

Stall Categories:

Blue
(Promotion)
Any UOW student or staff group who wish to hold a stall for the purpose of promotion in one of the designated zones on campus. Any additional activity other than a table needs to be approved (i.e. music). No sales are allowed. There is no maximum on the number of permits to be allocated on any single day.No Cost
Yellow
(Fundraising)
Any UOW student or staff group who wish to host a stall for the purpose of fundraising in one of the designated zones on campus.  Any additional activity other than a table needs to be approved (i.e. music).  There is a maximum of two (2) permits that can be allocated on any single day.No Cost
Green
(BBQ/Food)
Any UOW student or staff group who wish to host a stall for the purpose of a Barbeque in one of the designated Barbeque zones at UOW.  This permit entitles the group to a table and a BBQ.  Any additional activity needs to be approved (i.e. music). There is a maximum of two (2) permits that can be allocated on any single day.No Cost (If BBQ hire is required a fee will be charged)
Purple
(Student Social Experience)
Any UOW student or staff group woh wish to host an outdoor function on one of the 3 permanent outdoor stage structures. A 12-2pm noise curfew applies to the permanent stages located on the McKinnon Lawn and the Jugglers Lawn. No noise restrictions apply to the Duckpond Lawn stage. There is a maximum of two (2) permits that can be allocated on any single day.No Cost
Red
(Market Alley)
Any non commercial stall holder who has registered as part of the structured Market Alley event, unless otherwise negotiated. There is a maximum of 25 that can be allocated on any single day.As per the Market Alley policy

 

 

Electric BBQs - Booking procedure

3 fixed electric BBQs are located on the UOW main campus and may be used by staff and students free of charge.

Locations:
McKinnon Lawn, in front of building 67
Jugglers Lawn, near building 15
Near the Wollongong College, building 30

As per the UOW Stall Holder Policy BBQs can be booked by the same group once a week. Bookings are accepted up to 2 weeks in advance.

Booking procedure

The CSE Office will assist you with your booking requirements.
BBQ users need to bring their own utensils and cleaning equipment.
A valid staff or student ID needs to be presented when picking up the keys.
