O week Funding Request

The C&S Office would like to invite your Club/Society to be involved in the O Week Festival and Week 1 Clubs & Socs Day in 2010.

A little info about O Week 2010

O Week 2009 @ UOW is shaping up to be an amazing event – for new and old students alike! There will be entertainment, activities and food every day from 12.30pm. This includes music, live entertainment, stalls, activities, give-aways and general festival fun! Everything at the festival is FREE. Spread the word and get ready to kick 2010 off with a bang!

When are these events?

The O week festival will be held on Tuesday 23rd, Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th February 2010 from 12.30pm – 4pm each day. You are welcome to come to one, two or all of these days.

The Week 1 Clubs/ Societies Day will be held on Wednesday 3rd March 2010 from 10am – 3pm.

Why should your club/ society get involved?

O Week & Week 1 Clubs days are a wonderful opportunity to showcase your student group, recruit new members and promote events/ activities that your group organises. It is also an opportunity for all clubs and societies to get together to promote the program at UOW. After all, clubs & societies are a really important part of university life!

How will our activity be funded?

As introduced in 2009, we are going to run a Pre – O Week funding round. This means that clubs can apply for funding from the UniCentre C&S Office before O Week. If approved for funding, your club will receive this money before O Week and you will be able to use it to create your clubs promotional material, display or activity.

What do you need to do now?

Please do the following things over summer, leading up to O week:

  • Please send an email to kmoran@uow.edu.au notifying the C&S Office if you intend on being involved in O Week and/ or Week 1 2010
  • Please send an email out to all of your club members telling them the dates for O Week 2010 & Week 1 C&S Day
  • Start planning your activity, display and/ or promotional material. You will need to submit this information in the Pre O Week Funding round
  • Submit an application for O Week Funding Online at www.unicentre.uow.edu.au between now and the 27th November 2009
  • You will be notified of the outcome of this application by Friday 12th February 2010
  • If you do not require funding, you will also be able to book tables/ pinboards prior between the above days on the website
  • Come along and set up during O Week and Week 1 to recruit new members and start C&S 2010 with a bang!
